Moving Scrabo Forward
Scrabo Presbyterian Church plays a vital role in the local community and is centrally situated to provide many opportunities for fellowship for people of all ages.
The church buildings are now in their 53rd year and a complete re-wiring of the property is now necessary to ensure that the church remains a safe place for people to come together.

Alongside this vital work, the congregation is also taking the opportunity to:
(1) Upgrade the old electric heating system by building a boiler house to accommodate a modern gas heating system and a central electrical board;
(2) Improve the building’s insulation to use energy more efficiently;
(3) Make all parts of the building fully accessible for all users;
(4) Replace the shatter-proof windows with double glazed frames.
These modest improvements will involve expenditure estimated to be in excess of £300,000 – a huge sum for a small congregation based in a socially deprived area. Members have been building up a fund towards meeting this cost and they are confident that, with God’s continued blessing, this will be achieved.
