Our Minister

Rev Gary Ball

Gary was born in Newtownards, has lived mostly in Comber and was installed as our minister at Scrabo in June 2024.

Having encountered the love of Jesus in his late twenties, and previously working in the construction, retail and charitable sectors, as a roof slater & tiler, warehouse operative in a supermarket and resettlement worker in a Simon Community hostel, Gary trained for ministry at Union Theological College, served as assistant minister in Christ Church, Dundonald and was ordained to the full-time ministry in 2016 in Orangefield, where he served as Associate Minister, until coming to Scrabo. 

Gary and his wife, Ruth, were married in August 2024 and very much enjoy serving together at Scrabo as a team.
