Connect

Connect normally happens on the first Saturday evening of the month in the Hall at 7.30pm. It is open to everyone!

What is it? A group of people (over 18s) chilling out, chatting, getting to know each other, creating things, learning new skills, and enjoying each other’s company.

One idea is that people in the church / friends of friends / family etc will share a craft or skill with those who want to try something new. Or perhaps you want to bring your own craft project that you haven’t had time or space to finish. If you are not particularly interested in crafts, that’s OK. Don’t worry, we also mix things up a bit! Maybe a walk on one evening, a board game cafe, a Quiz night, a cookery experience or a themed night reflecting the Easter or Christmas season. Past activities have involved a Bowling night at the Ice Bowl, a visiting musical group, making Christmas gifts, and Games Nights in the Hall.

What is the intention of the Group? Basically, it is about building up relationships with people who may or may not attend church eg our neighbours, parents/guardians of children who attend our church activities, those people we have not seen in church for a while, friends, family, colleagues, people we have just met, or someone you feel could benefit from some time away to relax from the ups and downs and anxieties that life throws at us. It’s an opportunity to start conversations, get to know each other a bit better, make new friendships and hopefully show God’s love in the process.
